With less than two months until the wedding, our household has become a serious DIY project breading ground. In an effort to keep the budget as small as possible we’ve been trying to tackle as many DIY projects as we can to put the finishing touches on our big day. Everywhere you look you’ll find projects that are in different stages of completion and being created by different people. I’m a lucky gal to have a fiance, mother, mother in-law and Maid of Honor that are happy to chip in and help out where they can.
My fiance has been extremely hands on and that makes me extremely happy as I know I’m not in this alone. He helped me pack, lick and stamp many envelopes when the invitations need to go out and even now is still humoring my ridiculous project ideas and making them come to life right before my eyes. Each day I’m growing more and more excited for the big day, but I’m super excited for it to pass so that we can relax a bit.
I’ve been trying my hardest to take photos of the projects as they are happening so that after the big day I can blog about each one. I was going to do it along the way, but so many of our guest have admitted being readers and I didn’t want to spoil any of the surprises in advance. At this point I’m just hoping I don’t miss anything so that I can share it with all of you who won’t be able to see each of these items in person.
I’m sure it was at least a year ago that I made my Maid of Honor and myself infinity dresses just for fun. I meant to take photos of how I did it, along with those of a wrap dress I made based on something I saw in a Victoria’s Secret catalog, but I never seem to remember until projects are done. This time I’m making a much better effort, so I just need to not accidentally delete the photos before I write the blog posts.
For all of you readers out there that are married and have traveled this same path, what words of wisdom can you share as our big day approaches so that we’re ready to take that big walk? I’ve heard everything from pack bandaids and double stick tape for emergencies to kick back and just relax. What do you wish you would have remembered to do before heading down the aisle?
