Today is my official last day working in the hotel industry; at least for now. Starting Monday I am returning to the wonderful world of theme park management to tackle another subset of the industry and I couldn’t be more excited. I am looking forward to carrying on a family tradition in my own way and hope they are ready for the style of management I bring to the table.
For those who visit often, you may have noticed there was a lack of posting last Friday as I was busy painting our new house. On Wednesday of last week we became first time homeowners and excitedly moved forward into a new chapter of our lives. I’ve jokingly said that now I know my boyfriend will be sticking around for at least the next 30 years, but I think it is no secret that I’m pretty positive that he has no plans of going anywhere any time soon.
With new keys in hand, paint stuck under my nails and lots of nervous anticipation, I am looking forward to enjoying our new home together. Three years ago I never would have imagined that I would be so lucky to stand in a home of my own with a man by my side who supports me in every way possible. He supported my decision to return to an industry that I love and every day reminds me that everything will work itself out as long as we work together. I thank my lucky starts that my path made a sharp right turn and lead me down this very blessed road. In this instance, fate sure did step in and see me through.
