Tomorrow is the big day for Mr. Mallet as Rebuilding Together Bergen County and their volunteers join together with those volunteering from Grip-Rite to finish this home transformation. It was just last year that I was present on the big reveal day when Rebuilding Together Orlando and their volunteers teamed up with Grip-Rite’s volunteers to bring Ms. Lipofsky’s house back to life. It’s so exciting to hear that Grip-Rite is once again stepping in to help in a number of ways.
Grip-Rite contributed all kinds of resources for the team working with Rebuilding Together Bergen County to utilize. The Grip-Rite resources, tools and materials will enabled the team of volunteers working on Mr. Mallet’s house to complete the repairs that have been started in the last few weeks. A rebuild of the entire first floor, all new electrical work and brand new plumbing and floors will ensure that Grip-Rite and Rebuilding Together Bergen County can return the home back to Mr. Mallet in a much safer and healthier state than it was on October 29th last year.
Volunteers will be painting the interior now that the walls could be put back up. On the outside there will even be a team paining the exterior and landscaping the yard. As you can see the ramp has been removed and I’m sure the team will be doing their best to bring back some life to the front entrance of Mr. Mallet’s home. It’s hard to believe tomorrow is the one year anniversary of Hurricane Sandy coming through when you see how far this house has come.
PrimeSource Building Products, Inc. are the kind people who distribute the core products under the Grip-Rite name. With their 42 distribution centers throughout the United Sates and Canada, PrimeSource is home for more than 1,100 employees so they have quite a group to obtain volunteers from for this special project. Their products encompass everything from nails, screws and collated fasteners to tools, compressors and accessories, so it has been a blessing that Grip-Rite has teamed up with Rebuilding Together and the American Red Cross to ensure the best for Mr. Mallet’s home.
I’m looking forward to seeing the photos of the completed project, and I’m sure you are too, so check back next week to see how it all came out. For now, let’s toast to Rebuilding Together, Grip-Rite and the American Red Cross for all they do to help those in need. Thank you for moving in to help when many others walk away and ensuring people can get their lives back after being devastatingly affected by Hurricane Sandy just one year ago.
